South Padre Island is a critical stopover site for migratory birds! We especially welcomee our trans-gulf migrants, coming from the Yucatan Peninsula, completing their 600-mile flight across the Gulf of Mexico as they head to northern breeding sites. These tired and hungry migratory birds rely on quality habitat to rest and find the energy they need to continue on their journey.
