Underwater Music Festival
Dive into the world-famous Underwater Music Festival, hosted by the Lower Keys Chamber of Commerce!
This year is the 40th year of this 2-day festival. On Friday: Learn all about the important work happening at Mote Marine, tour the facilities, and get a first-hand look at the amazing efforts to restore the beautiful reef. There will be plenty of live music, light bites, and bevvies. The Friday event is free.
Saturday is dive day! Put on your favorite costume and gear to dive or snorkel at Looe Key Reef.
According to DiveNewswire.com: The concert draws several hundred divers and snorkelers each year to immerse themselves in the region’s colorful underwater panorama. Staged by the Keys’ US1 Radio 104.1 FM, the event provides a “submerged soundtrack” as participants explore a diverse realm of tropical fish, coral formations, and other marine life.
Photographers and videographers come from all over the world to film this festival. This footage that is seen around the entire world, promoting the diving and snorkeling industry and sharing information about the delicate oceanic environment in the Lower Keys.
