National Peanut Festival 2023
The National Peanut Festival is celebrating its 79th year, and this year’s Festival theme is: “Peanuts Galore and So Much More!”
Each fall, Dothan, Alabama rolls out the legume carpet to celebrate harvest season and the work of peanut farmers at the nation’s largest peanut festival. Dothan is known as the “Peanut Capital of the World” and the heart of peanut country. The majority of all the peanuts grown in the US grow within a 100-mile radius of Dothan!
Headliners include: Kameron Marlowe, Megan Moroney, and Ernest.
The festival began in 1938 as a three-day event. Dr. George Washington Carver was the guest speaker. Today, the National Peanut Festival has grown to a 10-day event with 200,000 attendees, amusement rides, animal attractions, agricultural displays, concerts, livestock shows, and a parade. Oh, and of course, tons of peanuts!
