Dickinson Little Italy Festival of Galveston County
The free Dickinson Little Italy Festival of Galveston County happens annually on the Saturday preceding the feast day of St. Joseph. The Fest honors and exhibits Sicilian-Italian customs, traditions, food, music, contests, games, and culture of abbondanza!
Many Italian immigrants settled in Texas in the late 1800s, and Dickinson grew to be the largest Italian community in Galveston County.
Some of the fun features include: a St. Joseph altar, live auction, authentic Italian food, Family Heritage exhibit, entertainment, Little Italy market, games, spaghetti eating contest, grape stomping, bocce ball tournament, dancing, and kids zone. Enjoy demos by Furia Training Center, Premier Martial Arts, Space City Circus, and Belva Fichera’s Tarantella Dancers.
