Día de los Muertos in New Orleans 2024
Krewe de Mayahuel presents this yearly tradition to share in Mexican culture and tradition while honoring and remembering beloved loved ones.
Prior to procession, there will be a pre-procession happy hour with Mexican art & crafts vendors, artisan makeup artists, and food for community members.
This is a festive yet solemn event. Have a good time in a respectful way. Day of the Dead is a celebration that has many forms in different parts of the world and everyone is welcome. Remember to bring a candle. There will be an altar in front of the cemetery where you can put a small offering or a picture of a loved one (if the item is valuable to you please don’t forget to take it with you when you leave).
Following will be a short cultural program by Krewe of Mayahuel and other Culture Bearers. Krewe meets at Mickey Markey Park.
