Corpus Christi Juneteenth Fest & 10 Days of Jubilee 2023

Corpus Christi, through the local chapter of the Texas Association of Black Personnel in Higher Education, throws a big community-wide Juneteenth that stretch across 10 days.

Juneteenth, aka Freedom Day or Emancipation Day commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. The holiday originated in Texas, and in 2021, was made a national holiday.

It all starts Fri, June 9 with the kick-off and continues with health screenings and a faith service. Events continue into the weekend with the Back & White Dance & Comedy Show featuring GrossMann. Then a 5K, the big festival featuring headliner Juvenile, Kingdom of Christ Community Singers, Top Shelf SA, and the Bayou City Brass Band. It all wraps up with a Sunday Day of Service and Family Fun Day in the Park.
