Camp HNO: Halloween New Orleans
Welcome to Camp HNO, where the spirit of summer thrives in the heart of Halloween! NOLA is the place for a weekend of thrilling adventures and chilling entertainment! It’s 3 big events in support of Project Lazarus, for the 41st year of Halloween New Orleans.
Check in for a weekend of enchantment at the Lazarus Ball. Indulge in tempting campfire treats, enjoy bewitching campfire tales, and peruse the silent auction filled with treasures from the haunted woods and beyond. At this gala, black tie is optional but camp spirit is required.
Join your fellow campers for a monstrous dance-off and costume contest, where the forest will come alive with laughter… or was that a scream? Dance beneath the stars to the beats of CPR-certified DJs and prepare for thrilling performances from surprise guests lurking in the shadows.
The adventure will culminate in a Tea Dance to celebrate the magic. Beginning on the dock at Woldenberg Park, guests will embark for a cruise on the Steamboat Natchez. As the sun sets, more embarking happens, this time on foot. It’s a Second Line Parade – a nature walk through the French Quarter accompanied by a brass band – before bidding farewell to friends old and new.
Launched in 1983, this weekend of fun was originally started as a dinner party given by a few people to honor their friends and loved ones who had died from AIDS. Halloween New Orleans grew into a private nonprofit organization, with the sole purpose of raising funds to support the mission of Project Lazarus. It has become the single largest cumulative donor to Project Lazarus since the agency’s inception.
