St. Pete MLK Dream Big Parade & Family Fun Day
Advantage Village Academy (AVA) began and hosted St. Petersburg’s inaugural MLK, Jr. Family Fun Day. Since it was a huge success, in 2017 the City invited AVA to reinvent the MLK, Jr. Family Fun Day and MLK, Jr. Parade for the community. St. Pete’s MLK Dream Big celebration was born.
The community is invited to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. As St. Pete is a diverse, vibrant city guided by principled progress and intentional inclusivity, where innovation, partnerships, and ingenuity create opportunity for all, AVA’s mission was clear. The celebration aims to honor the past and pursue the future with this series of 38th Annual MLK Dream Big events.
Witness a spectacular array of floats representing various organizations, communities, and themes that embody the spirit of Dr. King’s vision. Enjoy rhythmic beats and lively performances of marching bands from visiting local schools and colleges, bringing energy and music to the streets. The parade travels East to West on 1st Avenue South, and culminates at the free MLK Family Fun Day and carnival at Tropicana Field!
