Sopchoppy Worm Gruntin’ Festival
You gotta love a festival with creature mascot and a funky name! You got your Cooter Festival, Mullet Toss, and Lion Fish Fest. Is it a surprise that all of these gatherings happen in Florida?!
Well, get ready!! The Worms are coming!
For 20 years, the small town of Sopchoppy in Wakulla County, Florida, has Grunted Worms and at the Sopchoppy Worm Gruntin’ Festival. The fun begins with a race at 8am. The festival begins with vendors a Worm Gruntin’ demonstration and contestant sign-up (at the palm frond sign-up desk near the worm gruntin’ area). No festival would be complete without live music, lots of food, and a beer garden throughout the day and into the evening. It all culminates in the big event, the Worm Grunter’s Ball!
