Sopchoppy 4th of July
The annual Sopchoppy 4th of July Celebration kicks off in the morning with the Bill Stephens Americana Parade in downtown Sopchoppy. Rose Street is lined with folks to watch this one-of-a-kind parade. After the parade, the day continues on the bank of the pristine Sopchoppy River at Myron B. Hodge City Park.
Enjoy an afternoon of mighty fine music performers headlined by Luke Martin. More entertainment happens throughout the fest, in addition to arts & crafts, food vendors, exhibits, and kid’s activities.
As the sun sets and the moon rises, the celebration crescendos into a must-see fireworks display that fills the sky and the river with sparkling reflections.
The annual Sopchoppy 4th of July Celebration began in 1973 when Bill Stephens, fondly known as “Mr. Sopchoppy” and a group of his friends organized the first event. It’s been going strong ever since. This year, the town honors the Celebration’s 50th year. Welcome to Sopchoppy! One visit and you’ll understand why they say, “Sopchoppy & Easy Living Go Together.” See you in Sopchoppy!
