Sopchoppy 4th of July

The Annual Sopchoppy 4th of July Celebration began in 1973 when Bill Stephens, fondly known as “Mr. Sopchoppy” and a group of his friends organized the first event. And it’s been going strong ever since.
The celebration kicks off in the morning with the Bill Stephens Americana Parade in downtown Sopchoppy. Rose Street is lined with folks to watch this one-of-a-kind parade. After the parade, the day continues on the bank of the pristine Sopchoppy River at Myron B. Hodge City Park . Enjoy mighty fine music performers and other entertainment, arts, crafts, and food vendors, exhibits, and kid’s booths.
As the sun sets and the moon rises, the celebration concludes with a must-see fireworks display that fills the sky and the river reflects. Welcome to Sopchoppy! One visit and you’ll understand why they say, “Sopchoppy & Easy Living Go Together.” See you in Sopchoppy!
