New H-E-B Splash Park Official Grand Opening
The brand new H-E-B Splash Park within the Texas State Aquarium in Corpus Christi opens the day before Independence Day! This new addition replaces the 12-year-old splash park, a guest favorite located near the entrance to the Aquarium since 2011. The 15,000-square-foot splash park is designed to mimic the aquatic and terrestrial habitats of the Caribbean and the animals that reside there.
The new park is three times the size of the previous splash park and will include all custom water features, such as a multi-level slide play structure which includes three large slides, and a 350-gallon water dump feature. The new splash park is designed to appeal to a wide array of ages, from tall slides and spray features for tweens to an area with interactive water features designed for toddlers.
Guests will recognize familiar species along the waterscape as seen in the Aquarium’s Caribbean Journey, like macaws, sharks, and snakes! The new H-E-B Splash Park will be located on the right side of the Aquarium’s main ramp, behind the ticketing booth.
Not getting in the water? No problem! The new addition will appeal and cater to both children and parents alike, including 30 tables with umbrellas for lounging, as well as a Dippin Dots station, snacks, drinks, and a mobile ordering food service from the Pepsi Shoreline Grill, the Aquarium’s main restaurant.
