Plogging the Keys: Key West Cemetery Cleanup

Are you ready to plog?! Welcome to Plogging the Keys, a weekly community cleanup!

Join the “Litterati” this week for a one-hour early-bird cleanup in the Key West Cemetery and surrounding streets, hosted by the Historic Florida Keys Foundation.

Please BYO refillable water bottle. Look for the group’s neon green trailer. Meet 15 minutes early to register. Pick up supplies: a vest, gloves, bucket, and picker. All volunteers are also provided with hand sanitizer, access to water, and a parking pass for the event. A mere one hour makes a huge difference.

Plogging the Keys cleanups happen every Friday, 8-9am at various locations across the Florida Keys. “Plogging” is a portmanteau of the Swedish words “plocka upp” (meaning “pick up”) and “jogging,” referring to the activity of picking up litter while jogging or walking.
