Plogging the Keys: Just a Few Friends Cleanup

Are you ready to plog?! Welcome to the Plogging the Keys & Keep Key West Beautiful Labor Day Weekend Cleanup & Festival Kick-off!
Join the “Litterati” this week for an early-bird cleanup at Greene Street, Elizabeth Street and other areas in Old Town and the Historic Seaport Bight. Then stay for the Just a Few Friends Favorite Son festival! Start your vacation in the best way possible working side-by-side with Key West locals to keep our community beautiful. Free to participate.
Please BYO refillable water bottle. Look for the group’s neon green trailer. Meet 15 minutes early to register. Pick up supplies: a vest, gloves, bucket, and picker. All volunteers are also provided with hand sanitizer, access to water, and a parking pass for the event. The cleanup will finish back at the Conch Republic Seafood Company, or as the locals like to call it, “the Conch Farm.” A mere one hour makes a huge difference.
Plogging the Keys cleanups happen every Friday, at various locations across the Florida Keys. “Plogging” is a portmanteau of the Swedish words “plocka upp” (meaning “pick up”) and “jogging,” referring to the activity of picking up litter while jogging or walking. All events are subject to change or cancellation due to weather. Click through their Facebook page for future community events.
