Nola Funk Fest
The New Orleans Jazz Museum is proud to host Nola Funk Fest 2024, where New Orleans premier funk artists gather at the Jazz Museum for a 3-day festival full of Big Easy culture, delicious food, and amazing musical acts.
Nola Funk Fest is the coming out party for The Louisiana Music & Heritage Experience, a museum of grand scale dedicated to the preservation of Louisiana’s rich musical history. This festival features programming giving attendees a taste of what the museum will offer. The festival will feature an exhibit titled Shake Your Hips: Louisiana Blues. Festival programming will also include two symposiums where oral histories, flavored by musical performances, will highlight the evolution of Blues and Jazz into R&B, Rock & Roll, and Funk.
To top off the programming, 21 of the city’s best local funk acts will be performing for 3 days across two stages. The line-up includes Dumpstafunk, Marcia Ball, Bobby Rush, the Pinettes, the Baby Dolls, the Bucktown Allstars, and more. The evenings will be headlined (separately) by Big Freedia, Tank & the Bangas, and Geo Leo featuring George Porter and Leo Nocentelli playing the music of The Meters, with Stanton Moore and Ivan Neville.
