New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival

It’s time for FEST!!!
Cultural significance, popular appeal, and a city’s legacy as the birthplace of jazz: That’s the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival in a nutshell, commanding its rightful place across the last weekend of April and the first weekend of May.
Jazz Fest celebrates the indigenous music and culture of New Orleans and Louisiana, so the music encompasses every style associated with the city and the state: blues, R&B, gospel, Cajun, zydeco, Afro-Caribbean, folk, Latin, rock, rap, country, bluegrass and everything in between. And of course, there is lots of jazz, both contemporary and traditional.
At its heart, the 10-day cultural feast involves thousands of musicians, cooks, and craftspeople welcoming 400,000 visitors each year. In the daytime, multiple themed stages showcase unforgettable music, the food-courts-to-end-all-food-courts serve up glorious Louisiana cuisine, the walkways are populated with second-line parades, and crafts artisans from the region and around the world demonstrate and sell the fruits of their labor and love. At night, clubs across New Orleans feature de facto afterparties that can sometimes rival the fest itself.
So, go read the cubes to find out all about the headliners and must-sees.
It’s stuff of legends, y’all, and everything you’ve heard about it is true. So where yat? Just go!
