Houston Astros Juneteenth Celebration

Join the Astros at Minute Maid Park as they celebrate and honor Juneteenth. Everyone is welcome to celebrate!

Juneteenth is an annual holiday, celebrated on June 19. On that day in 1865, Union troops came to Galveston, Texas. The troops brought an order, issued by Major General Gordon Granger, proclaiming freedom for African Americans who had been kept as slaves over two years in Texas after President Lincoln decreed them free and signed the Emancipation Proclamation.
