Hearing EWF singing “September” in September on the bayfront in the Selena Auditorium sounds pretty magical doesn’t it?
We can’t find a lot of info about this show. No idea if it’s part of the same tour that was co-billed with Santana (we’re almost sure it isn’t), and no idea which of the members will be there. Guarantee, however, the evening will bounce to-and-fro between quiet storm to full-on funk rager, like they do. All iterations of this band have been, for our money, the real deal – so it’s all good.
And we bet if we holler “Verdine!” three times, he’ll magically appear, like the tall, dark, and lanky leprechaun that he is. Now, will they perform that amazing new take on smooth groove classic “Can’t Hide Love” featuring vocals by Lucky Daye and produced by Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, called “You Want My Love”?
