Dickens at the Rosenberg
Enjoy a panel discussion with Polly Boyd, Mark Dickens, and Deborah Dickens. Yes! These are the descendents of beloved author Charles Dickens, and they are appearing in Galveston to help mark 50 years of the Texas island’s Dickens on the Strand festival!
Hear about these family members’ work to keep Dickens’ stories alive. After the discussion, the library’s Galveston & Texas History Center will provide a short talk and viewing of the first edition copies of Charles Dickens’ works in the center’s collection.
Later that afternoon, children, kindergarten age and up may enjoy a practically perfect teatime with members of the Dickens family! Dress up and costumes encouraged, but not required.
