Butterflies in the Pass Monarch Festival
Head for the gazebo, the Billy Bourdin Butterfly Garden, and Monarch Way Station inside War Memorial Park for Butterflies in the Pass. This totally free festival celebrating the migration of the Monarchs will feature speakers, educational exhibits, hands-on activities for all ages, and a walking parade for anyone in butterfly regalia (including pets)!
Meet the community and learn all about Monarch butterflies and other pollinators – their benefits, lifecycles, and what we can do to help them thrive. Welcome special guests: Linda Auld – the New Orleans Bug Lady and State Botanist – Heather Sullivan! Lawn chairs and Butterfly-themed costumes are encouraged.
The Market in the Park will also take place during the festival and will have butterfly-themed items for sale. In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved to the Pass Christian Library.
