Bridge City Gumbo Festival
In 1973, the Louisiana Governor issued a proclamation naming Bridge City, “The Gumbo Capital of the World.” Thus begins the Gumbo Festival festivities every second full weekend in October.
Bridge City’s “World Famous” gumbo is cooked daily at the festival grounds with over 2,000 gallons of both seafood and chicken/sausage gumbo prepared for attendees during the festival. The Fais-do-do (dance) will have guests kicking up heels at Cajun, country, zydeco, jazz, blues, and rock legends. Parking is free to the public.
