Book Reading & Orphan Train Exhibit Opening
April 14: Author Sandra McKay will present a reading from An Original Journey Home, A Place for Me. A true story of a girl separated from her mother who fell on hard times following the death of her father, only to be placed on The Orphan Train in search of an adoptive new family. Reading, book signing, and reception. Books will be available for sale.
April 15: An exhibit telling the historic plight of children transported across the country by rail will open on Saturday, when history re-enactor Dorothy Lund-Nelson will perform and present exhibit on The Orphan Train. Presentation, member reception, and Sandra McKay Book signing. Books available in the museum dtore.
