For Carmelo Blandino, art exists as a conduit to confront humanity’s uncertainty. As with narratives of superhero archetypes triumphing over all odds, Blandino examines universal truths experienced through his personal journey of healing and “rebirth.”

The paintings in this empowering exhibition explore notions of comic book heroism and religious iconography in an attempt to strengthen and empower the everyday hero within us all, in an effort to thwart the dark fringe of human uncertainty.
