Artists from Degas to Calder were drawn to and inspired by the circus at varying points in their careers – not just for its spectacle and intriguing imagery, but for the melancholy, alienation, and oddity the circus often represented. Pulling inspiration from the curiosities and imagery depicted in 19th and 20th century circus life, artRageous: Cirque du Fear will present a three-ring circus filled with inner liberation, exploration of fears, and the mystique of entertainment.
