Cedar Key Pirate Invasion
It be told the pirates will be setting up camp in the city park and taking over the town, pillaging and plundering for charity! It has been rumored that the Pirates be returning to the shores of Cedar Key in force, the first weekend of November.
See how pirates lived when ashore. Learn from some of the finest re-enactors on the East Coast. Purchase wares and clothing from Vendors Row. Tap your toes to rousing sea shanties. Roam the town exploring local establishments. Pirates ye be warned: No open containers in public!
All scallywags shall attend Opening Ceremonies on Saturday morning. With a little persuasion, the Mayor shall “voluntarily” turn over the town to the pirates! Then comes the Blessing of the Fleet and the Clam Harvest, plus Golf Cart Parade with decorated carts and walking crews. Additional entertainment/Pirate music provided by the Lovely Ancient City Sirens and Rusty Cutlass.
For the Little Pirates, there will be a costume contest, Mermaids, and a search for the most infamous pirates in town on the “Wanted Poster” available at the Info Booth. Also the Krewe of the Scarlett Fortuna and the Pirates of the White Sands will have some exciting things in store for the wee Pirates.
