Among the remarkable manatees available for adoption is Zelda. This lovely female manatee easily identified by the scars on her back that resemble the letter “Z.” These scars are a result of unfortunate collisions with boats, serving as a poignant reminder to boat slowly, especially around shallow seagrass beds, and to not alter the manatees’ natural behavior by giving them food or water.
