Hurricane Idalia makes landfall in the Florida Big Bend as an extremely dangerous Category 3 Hurricane, ~7:45am, Wednesday, August 30, 2023

Hurricane Idalia may have left the building, but relief efforts are just getting started! Rubble needs clearing, supplies need distributing, and homes and businesses will need rebuilding. We can’t all be on the ground for the effort, but we can support those organizations doing the work. Click through the links provided to learn about these reallife disaster relief heroes. The top link goes to each web page, and the link under each write-up goes to each organization’s Facebook page.

DRAW – Disaster Relief at Work

DRAW is dedicated to providing whatever the survivors of natural disasters need as soon as they need it. First response teams help survivors sift through the remains of their homes to salvage valuables, move fallen trees, and deliver buckets of needed supplies. Since their launch in 2012, DRAW has responded to an average of seven major disasters per year. Needless to say, the 2022-2023 has been one for the record books and kept them busy.

DRAW Updates
