Sicilian Festival Spaghetti Cook-Off

Each year, to commemorate the hard work and innovation of the ancestors, the town of Independence, Louisiana hosts their Sicilian Heritage Festival. The Festival is always held the second weekend in March. The residents of Independence have a standing invitation for everyone to come and enjoy three days of great food, music and family fun.

The week prior, however, is the big sneak peek! The Sicilian Festival Spaghetti Cook-Off! Best awards (1st, 2nd, & 3rd) include: Best Red Gravy, Best Meatball, Best Sicilian-Themed Decor, Best Italian/Sicilian Dessert, Overall Champion.

If you think you have the best red gravy and meatballs, etc., come to downtown Independence, and bring your big wooden spoon for the 2024 Spaghetti Cook-Off!
