Plogging the Keys: Duval & Eaton Streets Cleanup

Are you ready to plog?! Welcome to Plogging the Keys, a weekly community cleanup!

Join the “Litterati” this week for an early-bird cleanup hosted by the Key West Woman’s Club. Stay for coffee, juice, a fabulous buffet of food by the women of the club, and to see the inside of this fabulous home after the cleanup.

But first, come for one hour picking up litter at Duval & Eaton Streets. Please BYO refillable water bottle. Look for the group’s neon green trailer. Meet 15 minutes early to register. Pick up supplies: a vest, gloves, bucket, and picker. All volunteers are also provided with hand sanitizer, access to water, and a parking pass for the event. A mere one hour makes a huge difference.

Plogging the Keys cleanups happen every Friday, 8-9am at various locations across the Florida Keys. “Plogging” is a portmanteau of the Swedish words “plocka upp” (meaning “pick up”) and “jogging,” referring to the activity of picking up litter while jogging or walking.
