NOLA Downtown Irish Club St. Pat’s Parade

The Downtown Irish Club is a social organization dedicated to preserving and perpetuating the Irish identity in New Orleans. Celebrating Irish heritage throughout each and every year since 1976, the Downtown Irish Club maintains that “everyone is Irish for a day,” making the club’s membership rich and diverse.
On St. Patrick’s Day, they launch from the iconic establishments of founders Roy Markey, Sr. and Edward “Bud Rip” Ripoll Jr. in the Bywater. The parade then rolls to the heart of the French Quarter. They’re the only parade annually on St. Patrick’s Day Proper with parade stops on Frenchmen, Decatur, and Tchoupitoulas. (Click link to see full route).
