MoonPie Over Mobile NYE

Some places drop balls. Some places drop fish. Some places drop queens named after a delicious fish dish. Since 2008, Mobile, Alabama drops a big ol’ delicious MoonPie! Make plans to be in downtown Mobile on December 31, for Mobile’s totally grand, totally free, and totally unique New Year celebration.

Festivities begin at 11am on New Year’s Eve in Mardi Gras Park. These include a MoonPie drop for kids at noon. Then, in the early evening, the world’s largest MoonPie is cut and served to the public! Folks then head to the Resolution Wall where guest may scribble down their intentions for 2023.

Then the night really gets poppin’ with Secondline parade, the Port City Secondliners, and headliner Third Eye Blind with Red Clay Strays and Levon Gray, plus fireworks, and of course, that giant 600-lb, 12-foot-tall pie in the sky as it descends the 34-story RSA BankTrust building.
