Merida’s Tapas & Cantina NYE Grand Opening
Padre Island, Corpus Christi celebrates New Year’s Eve and the Grand Opening of Merida’s Tapas & Cantina. And there are so many reasons to celebrate!
2020 and its fallout ushered in some sad culinary losses on Padre Island:
• Hurricane Hannah wrought the shuttering of Mikel May’s restaurant, located atop the critically damaged Bob Hall Pier
• JB’s German Bakery moved to the mainland and off the island from its iconic and architecturally unique building
• The closing of A la Mode Gelateria and subsequent move north of Chefs Vita Jarrin and Gail Huesmann
So when Merida May Mendoza, co-owner of Mikel May’s, announced her new venture, Merida’s Tapas & Cantina – to be located in the old JB German Bakery site with menus developed with Chef Gail – there was more than one reason to be cheerful.
Come join in this island-wide party to celebrate the return of friends old and new! Enjoy a delicious 4-course New Year’s Eve Dinner prepared by award-winning Chef Gail Huesmann. Select from 2 dinner option times: choice of appetizer, salad, main entree, and dessert from the exclusive New Year’s Eve Menu.
