Mayor of Houston’s Freedom Over Texas

Howdy, Houston! It’s the Mayor’s Official July 4th Celebration! Freedom Over Texas takes place on July 4, with six-hours of festivities, tradition, and live concert stages, along Allen Parkway and Eleanor Tinsley Park.

Freedom Over Texas will feature local, regional, and national entertainment and will be capped off with a musically choreographed, “Texas-sized” fireworks finale. The musical line-up is poppin’ like so many firecrakers with headliner Russell Dickerson, special guest Jo Dee Messina, and featured artist Chapel Hart!

This event has become Houston’s annual signature July 4th celebration with an average of 50,000 people in attendance and is televised live in Houston. Parts of the event will be simulcast across the state of Texas. Freedom Over Texas features a unique non-profit component joining forces with the Houston Food Bank to help fill an extraordinary demand in the community. The event will donate a percentage of food and beverage sales to the Houston Food Bank. H-town invites you to come out and enjoy a fun, engaging, and safe event for our nation’s birthday.
