Juneteenth Flag Raising in Port Arthur

The Port Arthur African-American Cultural Society will host the city’s 2022 Juneteenth events. To kick off the month’s commemorations, they invite the public to join the community in raising a flag. Music, food vendors, and family fun will follow.

Want to learn more? After the flag raising, head to the Port Arthur Public Library. They will present a Juneteenth display throughout the month, including stories of music, cultural foods, and pride. Carolyn M. Thibodeaux, children’s librarian, is a coordinator for the African American Culture Society.
