Gulf Coast Ethnic & Heritage Jazz Festival
With a mission to preserve the art of jazz music for future generations, the Gulf Coast Ethnic & Heritage Jazz Festival kicks off with a Thursday night of poetry hosted by Huggy Bear Da Poet. The next three evenings set words to music – or just let the music speak for itself – with a variety of artists, including E.B. Coleman Orchestra, Excelsior Band, and MJSJC & Jazz Studio on Friday; Althea René, Elan Trotman, and Mr. Sipp on Saturday; and Roman Street, Jakima & the Funkheads, and Milkshake rounding it out on Sunday.
