Christmas in Panacea
The Florida Panhandle holds so much smalltown charm, and the holidays are a wonderful time to explore!
For those yearning to slow down and experience a historical, authentic “Old Florida” village, then meander south from Tallahassee to Panacea. Discover this coastal area steeped in rich maritime history, shaped by generations of proud families, who still work the water in the time-honored traditions of boat-building, shrimping, crabbing, and fishing.
The Panacea Christmas celebration was initially created as a way to lift spirits after the town was rocked by Hurricane Dennis in 2005. Since then, Christmas in Panacea has grown into an annual affair!
The Panacea Christmas celebration includes vendors, entertainment, children’s activities including snow to play in and a bounce house, a visit with the Big Elf Himself, and of course, the annual parade down U.S. Highway 98, complete with decorated boats sponsored by local businesses and civic organizations. Local homeowners and businesses decorate their homes and storefronts for the event to bring the Christmas spirit to life!
