Beyond the Dazzle: The Art & Artistry of Mississippi Mardi Gras
Check out Beyond the Dazzle, a reception and panel discussion featuring Mississippi Mardi Gras costume designers and seamstresses. The panel will include Jennifer “JC” Darlynn of JC Darlynn Designs, Sheila Gray & Angela Polite of Carnival Costumes, and Dixie Trosclair. The discussion will be moderated by Anna Harris, Executive Director of the Coastal Mississippi Mardi Gras Museum.
“We often enjoy the final product of costumes at Mardi Gras balls and parades, but we do not get a chance to hear about the unique artistry that goes into the design and construction. This is an opportunity to learn how designers work with krewes to bring Mardi Gras themes to life through their one-of-a-kind, handmade works of art,” states Harris.
