The Italian Festival of Tickfaw 2023
The Village of Tickfaw, in Tangipahoa Parish, just north of Hammond, Louisiana has a population made up significantly of Italian-American descendants. This annual festa honors and serves up everything Italian.
One of the main highlights of the fest is the annual roster of royalty. There are events scattered across the year’s calendar to award the titles of annual reign – everything from T’Nincy Queen, Tiny Queen, Little Queen, Petite Queen, Deb Queen, Junior Miss Queen, Princess, Miss Italian Festival Queen, Teen Queen, Toddler Queen, Spaghetti Queen, Italian Festival King, Lil King, Grand Marshal, and more.

Speaking of highlights. Tickfaw is famous for its can’t-miss annual Spaghetti Cook-off! Prizes go to Best Gravy, Best Table Decoration, Best Meatball, and Grand Champion! (C’mon now, y’all: Give a li’l luv to the Pasta!!!) On top of spaghetti, the Italian Festival features a carnival, a vendor fair, live music, spaghetti cook-off, a parade featuring of course, Tickfaw royalty. All hail the Spaghetti Queen!
