
NYE: MoonPie Over Mobile

Some places drop balls. Some places drop fish. Some places drop queens named after a delicious fish dish. Since 2008, Mobile, Alabama drops a big ol’ delicious MoonPie! Make plans to be in downtown Mobile on December 31, for Mobile’s totally grand, totally free, and totally unique New Year celebration.
Festivities begin at on New Year’s Eve in Mardi Gras Park. These include a MoonPie drop for kids at noon. Then, in the early evening, the world’s largest MoonPie is cut and served to the public. Folks then head to the Resolution Wall where guest may scribble down their intentions for 2024.
Then the night really gets poppin’: This year, MoonPie Over Mobile celebrates Hip-Hop’s 50th with a Secondline parade, the Port City Secondliners, and headliners Yo-Yo, Dana Dane, Big Daddy Kane, Slick Rick, and Rob Base. Plus there’s fireworks, and of course, that giant 600-lb, 12-foot-tall pie in the sky as it descends the 34-story RSA BankTrust building. See you in downtown Mobile!
