Juneteenth Flag Raising in Port Arthur
The Port Arthur African-American Cultural Society hosts the city’s Juneteenth events. To kick off the month’s commemorations, they invite the public to join the community in raising a flag.
The African American Cultural Society (AACS), Gail Pellum, President is inviting everyone to gather for this significant celebration that commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States. The symbolic act of flag raising marks the official recognition of Juneteenth, which occurs on June 19.
