Joe Cain Procession

While the details of Joe Cain reviving Mobile Mardi Gras after the Civil War may be up for grabs, one thing’s for sure: Folks have been honoring him with Joe Cain Day (always the Sunday before Fat Tuesday) and his own procession since 1967. The walking group starts and concludes at the Civic Center in what the locals call “Route A.”
