Garifuna Festival in the Pass
The Friends of the Pass Christian Public Library are hosting a Garifuna Festival in the City Hall Courtyard.
The evening will start in the City Courtroom with a screening of clips from the forthcoming independent documentary Anichugu: Our Garifuna Story. The film´s directors, Sarah Borealis (US / Mexico), Audrey Flores (US / Honduras) and Arturo Juarez (Mexico) will be present to discuss the making of this international project, which has been in production for more than five years. The film is a closer look at the efforts of one Garifuna family to preserve and celebrate their ancestors and their cultural legacy.
Following the screening, we will move to the courtyard where there will be food, music, and a fashion show.
