Boyington Oak Festival includes a play, The Truth Is in the Tree, directed by Dr. Thomas Rowell, original music by Mike Turner, a tour of Oakleigh House Museum, and a Trolley Tour of Mobile historical sites. This tour tracks the footsteps of Charles Boyington, hanged for murder in 1834. Charles proclaimed his innocence and predicted an Oak Tree would grow from his grave proving his innocence. Today, the 186-year-old tree named the Boyington Oak Tree stands above his grave.
