
Alabama Coastal Cleanup

Whether you are a proud Alabaman, Gulf Coaster, or thoughtful visitor, you don’t need a special event to continue to make a difference.
In 2021, despite some rainy weather, volunteers removed 26,336 pounds of trash at the annual Alabama Coastal Cleanup. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of leaders and volunteers who continue to make progress towards keeping the coast cleaner, over 263 pounds of aluminum and plastic #1 we collected for recycling.
A variety of groups present this annual event, including the Poarch Band of Creek Indians, Alabama PALS (People Against A Littered State), Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration among other sponsors.
