Port A’s Whooping Crane Festival
Each year since 1996, the Whooping Crane Festival has celebrated the annual return of the cranes to their wintering habitat at the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge. The Texas Coastal Bend is the only place where you can see the world’s last naturally occurring population of Whooping Cranes.
This year’s “Wings of Winter” fest brings an array of opportunities to get out in nature, from boat and nature tours to talks with experts, plus a few social events mixed in. The Civic Center and Trade Show act as the festival’s ground zero. Every year, Port A opens up for all to share in her bounty. The Whooping Crane Festival is a great way to get to immerse in the whole area and to celebrate the annual return of guests, both winged and not!
