Hemingway Days in Key West 2023

All you scores of stocky, bearded men resembling Ernest Hemingway, rejoice! It’s that time of year again! It’s time to celebrate the late author’s literary accomplishments and colorful Key West lifestyle. The festival honors the legacy of the American literary giant who lived and wrote on the island for most of the 1930s.
Events include a commemoration of the 124th anniversary of his July 21 birth, the Hemingway® Look-Alike Contest at Sloppy Joe’s Bar, the “Running of the Bulls” featuring look-alikes and manmade bulls, literary readings and presentations, a museum exhibit of rare Hemingway memorabilia, 5k run and paddleboard race, a street fair, and the announcement of the winner of the Lorian Hemingway Short Story Competition coordinated by Ernest’s author granddaughter.
